Liam_Baggies
I thought Palmer had a really good game yesterday - much better than recent weeks. Footballers in general nowadays do not stop crosses and Palmer (who despite being good yesterday) is no different.
Dizzys Dad
Can anyone remember him ever making a tackle? If you can, remind me please, because I can't bring one to mind.
Salmonbones
Palmer was a potential weak point several times yesterday and pointing to the fact that we didn't concede doesn't change the fact that he did have a poor game defensively. Going forward he was bright and didn't do much wrong. I wouldn't mind if he learnt from it when he lets a winger get the better of him in a game, but it does seem to be happening quite a lot lately. He will run all day and is better going forward than defending, he'll have a lot better games this season then he did yesterday - and I woudn't be thinking about moving him back into midfield anytime soon though unless he can be a bit more composed when he gets anywhere near the opposition box. modboy
results dont lie but personally think his distribution, work ethic and creativity are all lacking. Hope he improves but think he is one of the reasons our goalscoring is poor if you compare his crossing etc to others
onefurlongout
I thought he was poor yesterday and better teams would have done better to expose him. He was the most improved player last season but has plateaued this. He isn't a natural defender and we haven't has a proper RB for a long time, Buxton is really a CB
WORKSOP_OWL
Still slating him after a clean sheet. Idiots. You can't say a bad word about the back 5 yesterday.
richowl
the one major mistake yesterday was from Helan when he was a good 3 yards behind play & played Wells on who went clean through. Westwood to the rescue!
WORKSOP_OWL
Ssssshhhh nobody noticed Helan made a mistake, all palmers fault
Hack-Abusi
you can see where the OP is coming from, especially this season - he has looked a bit ineffective in some games .. the defending for the Charlton equaliser was disgraceful and time and time again he's caught out too far up the pitch trying to attack - needs to get back to basics sometimes and just defend and make sure he does a good job at it first! SiJ
I think we all know the reason that we've kept clean sheets (Westwood). Not sure about Palmer tbf. Like him as a player, showed what he's capable of last season, but he does come across as a bit lethargic.
Guest ka58
We've got an excellent defence and Palmer plays a big part. Played well yesterday as well. God knows why people have chose to dig him out. Keep it up Liam!
casbahowl
Palmer is our absolute weaklink, anyone who thinks differently is sadly deluded. The kids performances have deteriorated game on game and Westwood gets him out of jail week on week ! Keiron Lee needs to be knocking on the managers door demanding his proper position back because he just ain't a midfielder and is in real danger of becoming just a squad player ! Lincowl
Thought yesterday was one of his better performances this season. Generally been poor though, think his level will turn out to be League One utility man. Not a patch on a fit Buxton.
Guest wilyfox
Palmer has been part of a defence that has kept 11 clean sheets so far this season? Is that right? If so, not sure why people are levelling so much criticism at him. Needs to sharpen up offensively, but he's doing fine at the back; and the more he plays the stronger he'll get. smhouston
My biggest gripe with Palmer is his lack of effort getting back. As soon as he is beaten he will just walks back. Very poor and no excuses for lack of effort.

gurujuan
Lees, Loovens and mostly Westwood are responsible for that. Well technically the whole team have played their part. We have one of the best defences in the division, even more impressive when you consider how little respite our front players have given them. Palmer is an integral part of a very good back five. SallyCinnamon
People are being very harsh on him here. Still young and learning a new role. That Bunn was dangerous yesterday and he kept him quiet. He's got a lot stronger this season aswell. We are quick to write off players aren't we. FFS get off the lads back, he gives 100 per cent every week.
