Geörge Whitebread
Let's go all out, May and Dave upfront with GTF just behind them. Dave and Royston or Maguire perhaps. Starting with May will only lead to a continuation of our current lack of attacking threat. Edited October 31, 2014 by George Whitebread
archway-owl
well if he´s looking for the sack you could be right ....... I actually think as a one off to really shake things up sticking Royston up top and telling him to beat the man and hit one could work we all know he can hit a ball and has pace and skill. GTF will win headers and hold the ball up bringing others into play. It would also give Stevie and Nuhiu a jolt and if it didn't work and you changed things they would hopefully come on with a renewed endeavour. It's not like this hasn't been done before with a reasonable amount of success with both JJ and Antonio. If we did it and it got Royston a goal we could see a totally different player when he next plays in his natural position as well.

Beholder
we have a tried and trusted way of playing away this season and its been very successful so far ,why do you think that your personal preference way of playing will be even better ?...... whats your plan ? It's not rocket science! Just drop Semedo, bring Maghoma central and put Helan in his place. Lee should be nearly there now in terms of fitness but we need more creativity and composure in midfield next to him.

Guest bulkoowl
I agree to an extent. As a defensive unit we are very good. We defend as a team from the front. The same is not true the other way round. We are slow at moving the ball around into attacking positions and then the choices are poor in the final 3rd. The reason for this? A midfield that is made up of players who's primary strength is to press and defend. Pressing and defending should be a prerequisite for all players. Instead we end up playing defensive 'specialists' like Semedo who gets rid of the ball like a hot potato as soon as he is in possession. Receiving the ball under pressure and being able to redistribute it in a manner that puts the opposition on their back foot is what we need to be doing. It won't happen with Semedo next to Lee. We need to play one of the more technically gifted midfielder we have at the club. Excatly does every succesfull team start from a solid defensive formation. how many times have we been in a zero or posiive goal difference at any time in a season ( apart from our promontion season ) stop leaking goals first then look at scoring i( where we are at now ) is the way forward
GY-owl.4
I would only play S May up top tomorrow if it was with the instructions to do nowt else but to be on the last defender, never straying wide of the 18 yard box. if hes gonna be running towards his own goal, be it out wide or in midfield (which happens A LOT) - then i wunt bother! Semedo Drenthe Coke Helan May/Maguire All of them front 5 are capable of scoring.. we really need to do that tomorrow, I would rather go into the bournemouth game on tuesday after a 3-2 defeat than a 1-0 defeat - we have shown we can bounce back (defensively)after conceding 7 & 3, but now we have to show we can get back to creating chances & scoring goals. theowlsman
Means our squad is lacking the quality Milan promised us on 10th April including a 20 goals a season striker. More hot air.
