Hutch out for two months

Out of the games I've seen this season, both in the flesh and via streams (thank you wigwiz), his performance against Derby was the stand out one.

He absolutely bossed that, with a drive, intensity and quality that none of the other midfielders on our books can produce.

Performances like that makes me understand entirely why we decided to snap him up when he became available...but we should have done so on a one year deal.

If it's a 2month lay off is it likely he's not torn anything ? Unrelated to his old knee injury so I'm sure the lad can come back fighting fit again around Xmas time hopefully

2 months I would have taken all day long when he limped off the park - lets hope that it is no longer.

His impact on the team is huge - had he stayed fit all season it would have probably meant we would have finished top 6.

Get well soon Hutch.

I'm fairly certain stuff will be built into the contract that factors in injuries, hence the two-year deal not really being a problem financially (plus, if he hardly plays again this year, he strikes me as the honest type who wouldn't take a club for a free ride for another year - he'd walk back into a coaching job at Chelsea for one so there would be no need).  Its been done to death in the other thread, but the deal was worth the risk.  He's too good for us (or any other mid-Champ) team when fit, which I appreciate is the problem!

Even with two months out, his re-introduction will hopefully be gentle from January into February.  The aim for him and the medical team should be to get him fit for February to the end of the season.  Don't worry about any time sooner.  That's still a sizeable chunk of games he can contribute to.  Good luck to the lad, he deserves some.
