bebby
Been watching since the late 70s/early 80s and during that time (averaged out) i hint that we have been strongest in the goalkeeping region. Had some corners and a few piles of crap but overall, we have been 'consistently' good. Just look at the keepers we have now! Bolder Turner Pressman Woods Grant Carson Kirkland Westwood Other decent keepers as well. No other area has been as consistently strong.

metaframe
I think it's reasonably true. The success we've had has been limited to when we've had a striker capable of getting 20 goals per season. That's what we've been missing really. Sounds obvious but.. Some of them should surely be nearing retirement by now?
mrgund
Paul Heald. Bruce Grobelaar. Also, what was that keeper called who let a soft back-pass in from 25 yards a few years back? Went to control it and it went under his foot. Paul Evans?

chris55515
Hodge Hodge was a great keeper. Anyone remember Steve Ogrizovic's goal on that windy day? It's on around the 4 minute mark on this old video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDwVHKESAT4 That's the first time I've ever been gobsmacked at Hillsborough, there's been plenty of times since, mind Edited October 13, 2014 by chris55515

MartinOwlMan
Never saw Chris Woods as a great 'keeper, despite him being a good shot stopper he was suspect on crosses.
