Buxton or Jose Semedo at Makeshift Centreback?

Recommended Posts

Always thought Buxton was a little too lightweight for CB, personally, but ok if we are short on cover. Surprised he got the nod over Dielna at centre half. Could easily have flipped Loovens to the right-hand side if needs be.

Zayatte or Dielna, Zayatte probably gets the nod because of his performances this year. I'd prefer to see us try Buxton at right back and Palmer in midfield than put Buxton at centre back again, it just didn't really work yesterday. Three man midfield of Coke, Semedo and Palmer might get the job done, with just the two we have a tendency to drop too deep.

Zayette..Dielna?  Genuine CH's..  we need to get away from accommodating or shoehorning players in..that's what DJ did to a degree and it eventually got him the sack.  Palmer has secured the RB position and we have players ready to step in at CH. As for Semedo  - he is a CM - lets keep him there.

Round pegs for round holes tend to work so much better.

So we with Lees out we Have Loovens, Zayatte, Dielna and Hutch who are all CBs by trade. We also have Buxton and Semedo that have played there earlier in their carer before moving to their current positions and we have the keeper and full backs that have helped us to 7 clean sheets this season.  I think we're alright at CB

Zayatte has shown to be more than capable so far this season.

If not we have always got Buxton and Hutchinson.

Semedo is a possibility if and when we have no other option. I just don't think he's tall enough for the role. Apparently he's 6ft. But the Internet also has Lee down as 6ft 1.

Semedo - no

Buxton - maybe.

Surprising myself here, but Zayette is doing a little better in central defence this year, not enough game time to judge him on properly though. Sending off was harsh in the cup. Still think he's marginally better than either Semedo or Buxton in that position though.
