Would we have made more or less yesterday than a normal priced game?

Recommended Posts

Lets put the catering thing to one side and say the catering situation was as it was a few years ago?

Just curious to know the difference and what we could potentially lower our ticket price to without losing money.

If it was 15 pound a ticket for instance how many would we need to sell extra to make the same money? If you add in the amount of beer per average attendee etc.

Also, the extra spending in the club shop & on programmes adds up. Sadly, though, 20,000 at £20 average, beats yesterdays income by a mile.

Have to leave out season ticket holders in attendance tho?  Say 15k on seasons, 5k extra brings in £100k at £20, but 15k extra brings in £150k at £10, plus extra sales of programs, merchandise etc....

Suspect very little in it, and I know which I would prefer to see....

Something about the 27 pounds just winds me up.

It's so near 30. 24 quid should be max price. And I am lucky enough to afford it. Average paid job no kids etc, it's just the principle.

Tbh.... now I've had one for a tenner I'll go to a few more until my average price per ticket is the amount I see as reasonable.

They should do 3 matches for 60 quid or something. That would get me in a lot more.

If only them cheapskate season ticket holders wouldn't insist on having a massive discount this club could really go places!👺

It's the 'Part-timers' paying over the odds for normal games that keeps Wednesday afloat. 😇

And to the guy behind me on the North yesterday (a ST holder) who felt the need to shout out instructions and pass comment on every single thing: I've heard more intelligent comments from Brian the Blade. When he started telling Loovens and Lees what they should do I was sorely tempted to ask which European Giants he managed in his spare time!

(Shameless ST-holder baiting to redress the balance a little. 😉 WAWAW)

The price is a very good point.

28 quid for football at this level is a bit steep, but prices across the board are a bit mental.

On the flip side, there are huge portions of fan bases moaning that clubs don't spend enough on players.

Needs to be a balance from both sides

We shouldn't be charging any less for one game than the amount an ST average game costs. £20 would be good value for money. £10 for any concession / age.  The opponent category system is daft. Maybe have a look at asking people to buy 3 home tickets per month at a reduced rate. £28 is dear. 3 for £60 sounds like an offer, even 3 for £75 would. Price is the single most reason people I know stay away. What Wednesday are selling hasn't been value for money for years, no matter how loyal you are, money talks.

Totally agree. Was great yesterday in the ground - not saying it has to be a tenner for adults but make it £20 and £10 and half that for games we know are gonna be poorly attended generally. Half empty stadium for years - Get people in!

I think all championship games shud have a price cap 20 pounds for the cheapest seats 25 for the most expensive

The running costs players wagers etc shud revolve round these figures plus sponsorship

Great in principle but how much would you sell season tickets for if this was your pricing policy ? People like me aren't going going to pay £450ish any more.

Yesterday proved we can do it and price IS the issue, so....

I reckon £10 x 15k = 150,000 - for ST holders

£15 x 10k = 150,000 - for pay per game tickets

Plus approx 5k kids at say a fiver £25,000

= £325,000 + secondary spend etc

That's gotta be a sustainable model even if it was accepted we would have to sell one "star" per season to balance the books

usual price is £10 - £20. We get 20k approx

yesterday was £5 - £10. We got 30k approx.

so to just equal revenue of normal game, we would need 40k. We didn't

food profits are not club profits as far as i understand the catering contract so that argument does not compensate for this loss.

it was "for show" only imho
