matthefish2002
Somehow i think it's just inappropriate to be celebrating Hillsborough Stadium's Birthday while the Hillsborough inquest is ongoing. Hardly celebrating it with one thread on here!

Errol Flashman
I might risk being seeing as lacking empathy but I think we should be able to celebrate all the wonderful memories we have collected in our ground. I know there was a terrible tragedy, but that was one event amongst 1000's of wonderful ones. Just a bloke. Being dragged along in a world that moves too quick for it's own good. dunsbyowl
A couple of more press clippings about our #MASSIVE start at Owlerton and a photo of the old South Stand which had been dismantled and brought to the ground from Olive Grove. 31Dec1966
Absolutely fantastic post. Thanks. After 48 years (maybe because it's 48 years) I still get a warm feeling when I climb those steps and look out onto the ground.
wenzdyboy
Really intrigued by the drawing of the roofless kop with the fire going off!! Anyone any idea what that is all about?
barmyowl1212
Was just thinking similarly about the roof going on the Kop. Seems like yesterday to me. The kop opening by the queen was the day i was born.
gaz62uk
Great read mate well done. I love the place can you imagine a stupid hotel stuck on the corner. Would not swap it for any other ground in the world, to many good and bad memories I've had in that place to going down to forest on the last day under Ron, to sleeping on the south stand for tickets to wembley. I could go on and on. Happy Birthday old girl.
horny owl
The most iconic football ground in England Hillsborough deserves premiership football.
Flat Owl
Great stuff again Dunsby. There really is no excuse not to have some of these images done in large format and used around the ground. So much more can and should be made of the heritage and history of the club from its beginnings in 1867.

Guest sotonowl
That's great stuff again Dunsby but I have a little tester for you. Do you have a pic of the old Leppings lane end, taken from the pitch side and showing the old scoreboard. I'd be eternally grateful if you have, bring back some memories that would. Oh, many happy returns to the Temple
