gurujuan
So with the window now closed, I have to say I'm happy with the business we've done. To say I'm not easily pleased, would be a bit of an understatement, but we've managed to address three of the areas we needed to strengthen and we haven't lost anyone.Alright, the names were not perhaps what we hoped for, but Milan was never going to spend any money was he. Dielna gives us cover in two of the defensive positions, Drenthe brings a wealth of experience to our midfield, and offers us genuine quality delivery from the left. Hallam Hope brings some much needed pace to the attack. All in all, a satisfactory weeks work.

WayneTheOwl
Got to agree mostly, just think we are missing that creativity in the centre of midfield, hope we can address that with a loan. Apart from that, I think its the best squad we have had in a long time!
Guest wilyfox
3 signings in as many days. We now have depth.
FlyingOwl
To say we have had very little money to work with...it's been a surprisingly pleasant transfer window. I still expect at least one more player in during the loan window.
WalthamOwl
I agree I think. Would have loved us to sign a creative midfielder and a quality striker (Becchio would have been great) but guess 3 signings in the last week I can't complain really
PeteG_1984
I'm pretty happy too. If I'm being greedy, I'd like to see a creative midfielder brought on loan next week
marconi
Drentha and Dielna - Na then dee

I'd have loved to see us pip Rotherham and listen to Evans' reaction!

I still expect at least one more player in during the loan window. That's the thing, there's no doubt we've done things on the cheap, but we've known that would be they case for a while now. Expect Milan to make an appearance now he doesn't have to get his wallet out. Maybe we'll still bring in a winger, as Drenthe can hardly be called a winger these days, but he has a decent left foot and bags of top level experience
SHUowl
I said last week that were four players away from a challenge because our first 11 is good but we have no depth and since then we've got three so not all bad and the loan window opens next week for that CM to come in. Guest Johnbloodaxe
We have a much better alphabet spread too... we were very unbalanced too tight in the middle of the park all L's M's and N's but now we have D's and H's which spreads it a bit and helps balance out lone W. Much better balance now. Edited September 1, 2014 by Johnbloodaxe
mike312
I would have liked a creative midfielder but hey the loan window opens in a week and I expect we will bring 1 or 2 in no more.
gurujuan
Murray and Becchio were on most peoples wish list last week, so slightly disappointed we didn't make a move. A striker who has been there, seen it and done it, at this level would have been ideal alongside our relatively inexperienced group of forwards

Guest wilyfox
I would say both of those are better than what we have, especially with them both being proven in the championship But, Murray is coming back from long term injury & Becchio has been in no mans land for 18 months. May take a while to get them firing. Still decent signings though, but we have numerous options.
Dagmeister
Yes I think its been satisfactory. Drenthe could be an inspired signing if Gray can get him to buy into the group ethos.... a definite punt though.
Guest wilyfox
Maybe in terms of numbers but we still lack goals It's early doors. Nuhiu has started well, and May will bed in. Service needs tweaking - Drenthe should help out there. We've not seen enough of Hope yet; hopefully he'll make an impact. Good reasons for optimism. Dagmeister
Maybe in terms of numbers but we still lack goals Be interesting to see what our strikers can achieve with a bit of extra quality from midfield via Lee, Drenthe and maybe Hope (unless he is used as an out and out striker).
