Sweet Shezza
I know it's not the most reliable source but this is taken from Wiki and refers to Royston: "However, he also suffered from anxiety issues after being booed by the club's supporters during a 1–0 home win against Deportivo de La Coruña and did not feature for the club for a period, although manager Juande Ramos offered the player his support and insisted he would help him.[6] The manager later revealed that the player asked not to be picked for the three games after the Deportivo fixture." I hope some of our less patient fans cut him some slack when he's having a bad day at the office and refrain from booing our new man .
Guest Deleted member
Ridiculous. Booing encourages the players not to make mistakes, and let's face it, if you've paid your money you have every right to boo the players If booing affects their game, they should consider a different career

It's one of those where I feel like it is sarcasm but it's worded like it also might not be... I think it harks back to a thread from early last season when booing was all the rage and the debate was whether to roundly applaud and thank Jay Bothroyd for even considering playing for our club and turning up to take a wage off us and helping us to become a harmonious winning machine. I have never booed a player during a game as I agree that it isn't helpful but Bothroyd was seemingly a completely different kettle of fish, walked into a winning side, changed the complexion and approach of the team and was seemingly undroppable. I have faith that Stuart Gray will not allow this to happen with Drenthe and he will have to earn a place in the side.

Tyto Alba
I'm sure somebody posted a newspaper article from the 1890's or summat recently...where they were complaining about this. Grandad started it back then. BOOOOO

If you want to boo me then roger you I'll just take you money, go back to my club and I'll be loaned to a club that might appreciate me.

I agree, (I got the wrong season with Bothroyd by the way, how time flies when you're having fun!) but I think in the case of Bothroyd it was the wrong player at the wrong time. Even so, most fans welcomed him initially. He walked into a winning team and we turned into a losing team, changed the way we played and seemed to strut round the pitch like he owned it without ever actually doing anything to justify it.
