EcclesallOwl Posted September 1, 2014 Share Posted September 1, 2014 Now we have the two loan players in, is that us done for the season?GK: Kirkland, Westwood, Wildsmith, (Dawson out on loan) RB: Buxton, Palmer CB: Lees, Loovens, Zayatte, Dielna LB: Mattock, Helan, Floro RM: Maguire CM: Hutchinson, Lee, Coke, Semedo LM: Maghoma, Drenthe ST: Nuhiu, May, Madine, Hope, (Lavery back in a few months) With Lee, Hutchinson & Buxton (allows Palmer to centre mid if needed) expected to be fit for our next game, that would mean centre mid is back to full strength. That's all based on who I think Gray would be willing to chuck in the first XI from the start in a league game.. McCabe & Corry could also be in there for centre mid. We have players who are versatile such as Hutchinson, Palmer, Lees, Buxton, Helan, Maguire, Hope etc. who can all play in more than one position.We done then? Happy with it? swfc-dan Posted September 1, 2014 Share Posted September 1, 2014 Still a bit weak in midfield in terms of creativity and the wide positions, but overall we're looking pretty good. I think we are done for now but im sure a chance to get a player on an emergency loan will arise. We needed a winger today and have got one who could be very good. Along with the defender the other day we are nearly there, pretty happy. Will we have enough goals? It's going to rely on May finding his scoring touch and possibly Madine regaining his. Don't like Coke and Semedo together We lack impetus when they're our two in midfield, they sit back a bit too much for my liking. However, against the appalling defences of Birmingham and Bolton they may be able to push forward more, though hopefully we'll have some players back off injury by then. Its the one glaring missing piece in the jigsaw and has been for many seasons. If we can bring a championship standard CM then we will be the real deal. Painfully close but not there yet IMO. Lee A Posted September 1, 2014 Share Posted September 1, 2014 (edited) Agree with the majority Need a central midfielder with a more attacking mentality, Kieran Lee is probably our most attacking central midfield player, which says a lot as it's not really his natural game. Very happy with the defence, could do with 1 more winger perhaps aswell though but I'd be amazed to see that happen Always want more strikers but if we can get the supply sorted from midfield, Nuhiu and May will be more than good enough, especially with options in Lavery and Hope I'm not completely miserable just now Edited September 1, 2014 by Lee A Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
