Caolan Lavery

Recommended Posts

Am I the only one that wants us to sign players ahead of him and ship him back out on loan for the season?

He's (going to be) a great player for us, but with the way we're playing at the moment, he's not good enough to be starting (Nuhiu and May ahead of him upfront, Maguire and Maghoma ahead of him on the wings).

Unless, as someone said in another thread, we move Maguire into the middle and play Lavery out wide, but that's really just a short term solution until Lee comes back.

The lad needs to be starting week in, week out to keep improving like he did so well last season after his loan to Plymouth. He did well for us last season, and is an exciting young player, but he needs more than 20 minutes from the bench every week.

Even if it weakens the squad for now, send him out with the option to recall - we'll be fine without him and he can come back to be first team next season.

My mistake.

I bow to your ITK knowledge...

Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Sam Hutchinson faces another fitness test ahead of the visit of Nottingham Forest.

Hutchinson has missed the last two games with a back problem and manager Stuart Gray remains cautious as to his chances of returning on Saturday.

Fellow midfielder Kieran Lee will play no part as he is still struggling with a groin injury, but skipper Glenn Loovens and goalkeeper Keiren Westwood are expected to return after sitting out the midweek Capital One Cup win at Burnley.

Defender Lewis Buxton is still working his way back from a knee injury while striker Caolan Lavery is recovering from knee surgery.
