F. Spiksley
I was doing a sort out at home earlier and found an old match day programme from 1987. I read through Howard Wilkinson's piece and it rings true today. In parts anyway. Despite off the pitch distractions, I believe we should be making ourselves part of the upward curve by being vocal and backing the eleven men in blue and white on the pitch every match... It rings true, confidence is pervasive or at least should be. The flame thrower part is great, typical Wednesday! Hope it reads ok iPad photo so a bit blurry. Bradshaw the centrefold, short sponsored by Stones. Other antiquated adverts and ancient phone numbers etc. It was a youngish Hirsty who just nicked it at the end with a great goal, ironically Gary Baileys last match in between the sticks for Man Utd.. We were both mid-table clubs at the time I recall.
