Maghoma

Recommended Posts

Can be a really good player on his day, but he was utterly awful today.

I remember Gray saying last season he liked Maghoma because he was intelligent on the ball, he looked like JJ MK II tonight - running with the ball and no end product, he doesn't have a clue when to pass it and when not to, constantly losing the ball and majority of the time never even tracking back.

Another winger is absolutely needed, weather it be permanent or on loan, and no doubt it's the latter

Just put this in another thread..

I'm starting to get mighty p*ssed off with Maghoma and his constant holding on to the ball for too long, slowing down play - pass and bloody move.

He's not playing bad but he needs to stop trying to beat 3 men, just keep it simple.

Thing is though, as much as you all slate his indecision, he was the only one tonight who was going to create something in open play.

We cannot continue to rely on worldy strikes and direct free kicks. Maghoma was worringly our only player who was going to cause a problem tonight.

Surely that has to be addressed

We need someone with pace up top as an option

A new wide man

And possibly someone who's very skilful and can make something out of nothing

A number 10 basically

He can beat a man very well but then he gives the man he's just beat time to catch up and rob him of the ball again by dithering about finding non-existent space to shoot at, all the while Mattock's screaming at him out in a good position on the left wing that he can't see because he always cuts inside.

Like I said in other thread it's decision making once he's gone past a couple of players.

Rush of blood to head sometimes, once he cuts inside he should just have a pop at goal instead of trying to beat another man.

Still think he's one of our better players though.

Yeh but he didn't though did he. He ran up blind alleyways and lost the ball a lot. Hopefully he was having an off day with tired legs, think a few were that way after a tough game against Derby.

he is silly and makes poor decision but he is not jj. jj was a clown with zero footballing ability. this guy has it he just doesn't use it properly ! he has also played four games on the spin something that biscuit legs jj could only dream of

Personally I think that's the problem, his stamina is the main concern. Which is why we defo need another option out wide if only to give mags and Maguire a game off now and then.

Again this is my worry with loovens. And were starting to see cracks form already with hutch and Lee.

The reason he was the only player that was going to create anything was excellent diagonal balls from Palmer put him in the right position. As soon as he had to do something with the opportunity he was given he cocked it up.

Put Maguire in the box with the ball at his feet as many times as Maghoma had it yesterday and we'd have scored twice.

A lack of a decent left winger is wasting a brilliant asset we have in Palmer - his balls to Maghoma yesterday were superb.
