Recommended Posts

Forget the World Cup, it's now all about the 2014/15 Season... will Wednesday make it to the play-offs or is that a step too far this year? Who will will the league? Who will win the other leagues? Who will get relegated? If you think you know the answers then have a go on my Prediction Competition.

It's simple, easy to complete and promises a year of entertainment and interest in games you wouldn't otherwise have any interest in.

Any questions, plonk them on this thread.

There is an ingenious way of determining if a team does well... there are goals at either end of the pitch... each team has to try and 'score' more than the other team... by that I mean kick, head or otherwise place the ball into the goal with any part of the body other than their hands/arms.

If a team achieves that task more than the other team they are deemed to have done well and get 3pts, otherwise they get 1pt for doing it the same number of times (a 'drawn game') and 0pts if they are outscored.

:)

So to answer the question seriously you just want to pick the three teams who you think will get the most points across the season. Each league is however divided in accordance with where they finished last season so you have to choose a lower table team to do well rather than being able to pick last season's top three.

Similarly the one team you pick to do badly should be the team who you expect to finish bottom of the table as however many points they score will be taken off your overall score... if you picked Wolves to do badly last season you would have ultimately given yourself a 103pt handicap as that's how many points they finished on.

This is last seasons Dream Team... chock full of the highest scorers from each segment and lowest scorers from each League... of course many of them won't be in the same League this year due to promotion / relegation so it's not necessarily always a case of just picking teams that did well / poorly last year.

Would it not be more self explanitary if you said team to finish highest?

Tottenham finishing 3rd could be judged to have done well and Man City finishing 2nd could be poor by their new standards, so this done well / did poorly sitiation is a bit flawed.

When people enter can they state so on here, this will serve a triple purpose of helping me to associate entrants with their Owlstalk personas, advertising how massively popular it is and and will also mean the thread stays on the first page without simply being full of me bumping it :)

Entries still trickling in at the minute, there should be a good turnout ultimately but thats reliant on everyone whos interested following through with an entry.

If you're fancying it PLEASE have a go, it's a fiver across 40 weeks so 12.5p per week (I don't accept a 40 week payment plan unfortunately).

Now only just over two weeks to go before the big kick off. I'#ve been working on the reports spreadsheets so you can now not only track your own progress week by week but also track the points of your selected teams so you know who's letting you down or turned a corner.

If anyone fancies a go and will be at the six-a-side tournament this weekend you can pay me in person!
