Cahill's still only 28. Thought he's been our only defender worthy of the name to be fair.

I like Cahill, but he was caught ball watching when Balotelli scored.

In my opinion, all the positives have come from our young players

Our experienced players have all looked ordinary.

Just a bloke, who used up all his luck in one go when he met his wife.

We seem to get outworked every game. The other teams just seem to have more players capable of working hard while also having ability on the ball.

Just watched the swiss getting walloped by the french and despite losing they played some great football

Apart from the central defence which was made up of ex arsenal reserves the full backs, midfield and forwards were all players with great ability on the ball, quick , great first touch and all good allround players

Our individuals always seem to have a weakness in the basics. Either too slow, works hard but not good enough on the ball or in the case of somebody like Barkley the opposite.

You can't get away with being lacking in any basic requirement anymore. You get found out.

What I don't get is why a journalist wanting to make a name for themselves, who has access to a media platforms, why don't they start asking the hard, and correct questions to the Fa? But most just concentrate on the present, not why we are where we are

No creativity, character or heart on the pitch. Having said that games turn on small things...we had chances but didn't finish them. Refereeing was inconsistent and we don't know how to play them to our advantage...Uruguayan captain should have been sent off for blatant yellow card arm...ref bottled it.

When we have the ball we are hounded, closed down and not given a moment on the ball...when very average opponents get the ball we give them time and space...coaching is poor.

Find and coach a strong spine, play all of your friendlies and matches with this spine and add players around the fringes.

Grassroots football needs sorting so we have a competitive team in 20 years from now.

This is exactly it. We keep going on about not having the players, how foreign players are squeezing English players out of the Premiership. That is nonsense. We had the players to get a result against Uruguay at least, but they have not been moulded into a team to the level we can grind out the results.

Sticking with Hodgson is probably right provided he does go forward from here and mould those players into a cohesive team. We either see that at the Euros or he goes.

Pretty sure that Waddle was praising the England display against Italy and suggested that we would qualify.

What he said after the Uruguay game is correct, but he comes across as another fickle fan like the rest of us.

Not that great.

Who should he have picked in defence instead? He talks about not picking the best 11, if he was Cole would have been in the side. Building from the back that is the best defence Hodgson had as his disposal.

Before the game everyone wanted to keep the same team that put in a good show against Italy. Then when we lose he's criticised for picking the media's team or the best individuals. At the end of the day we still would have f*cking lost no matter what the team was.

He's right about the Premier League, but that's been painfully obvious for years. No point moaning and complaining after every major tournament knock out, nothing will change until football in this country is given a complete shake up. Hodgson in my opinion is doing the best job with what he has.

But it should be Hodgson's job, regardless of what the media and we think, to pick the right team and make them perform their best.

My own personal opinion is that it didn't work for England with Gerrard and Henderson as holding players. In the first game everyone blamed Rooney and Welbeck for not tracking back but playing two in front of the back for meant one of those could have screened easily, especially as Pirlo and Di Rossi didn't venture that far forward.

We needed an organiser at the back. The full backs seemed reluctant to put crosses in. Baines always passed it back when in a position to cross and Johnson always wants to cut in onto his left foot for some reason. Henderson and Gerrard played on each others toes. It's time we realised Rooney is not World class. We accomodated Wellbeck for some reason, sorry but he's not a wide player especially at this level. Sturridge came out of it with some credit but we missed the likes of Townsend and Oxlade Chamberlain.

shows how we miss the likes of leaders like Terry, Ferdinand, and before that Campbell, Adams etc ...

there were no leaders the back .. we haven't one for a while

Clubs abroad aren't stupid. They can have their own players for much less money. They have better coaching set ups so have absolutely no need to 'buy' players from over here as it would be akin to burning money.

Plus the fact that we are still stuck in medieval times, and we still select players at Under 11's based on the following criteria;

1. He's a big lad - Centre half

2. He's small and nippy - Winger

3. He's a gobshite and can tackle, absolutely no ball control -  Captain

4. He's popular with his friends but can't play for dog5hit, but his dad has a 7-seater Volvo estate for away matches - Goalkeeper

5. He's got a lot of girlfriends - Centre forward

6. Pacy but no first touch, good at academic work - Full Back
