Belfast Owl 2
please let reports of him becoming our manager be untrue. He would make Turner look competent. Would hate to see a club legend f*ck up as manager

RobbieOwler
Hopefully we'll get him in as coach and he can teach our players how to cross a ball.

Rogers
Would be good to have him in director of football, scouting role, or something similar. He speaks French doesn't he, could assist with the Lens connection.

Dagmeister
Been out of the game for ages. Failed manager. Very limited experience as a coach. As others have said; hopefully we'll preserve the memory of his playing days and not tarnish them with a risky management stint. Hopefully we'll get him in as coach and he can teach our players how to cross a ball. Good call.
Russy
I'd be devastated if he was announced as Head Coach. Stick to being a legend and TV commentator please.
ReadingOwl
I like Waddle. Both as a pundit and an ex player. He certainly still has some passion for the game - and, clearly though his media work, contacts and knowledge. He still lives in Sheffield, I believe? Would he be any good as a manager? How do you pick a 'dead cert' manager? I have no idea - and neither have any of you.
BIG D
Waddle could easily work as manager with a good coach next to him. The fans would be right behind him for a start. Could be our Kevin Keegan.
Stoop
Could get gazza in as his assistant
BRUCE LEE
It sounded more like a director of football role between the clubs. Waddle is one of a few.
Bluesteel
I can only hope its a DOF type role
Guest _Ibbo_
Waddle would be more of a Head Coach than a manager...... I don't get the negative reactions. As i said else where When he "Managed" burnley, i had a mate who was a season ticket holder at the time. He said the style of football was far beyond the players they had and was awsome to watch. they just didn't have enough good players to implement Waddles style. Hes hardly failed anywhere. Waddle has applied for the SWFC managers job every time its come up apparently. Still very famous across europe. Would be a huge draw for players as well. Captain Sl-OWL-ly
Waddle could easily work as manager with a good coach next to him. The fans would be right behind him for a start. Could be our Kevin Keegan. As I've said in the other thread, It's cos he's well know in France, cos he's still got a love for Wednesday, cos he can handle the media, cos he comes over well, cos he could attract other top names... There's loads of reasons but non of which should make him coach or manager, we should leave that to Gray and if required use the Waddler as the front man, the face of Sheffield Wednesday (and RC Lens).. DoF perhaps is where he would fit in, manager may have been lost in translation...
Guest Mclean
I'd be happy having him as part of the set-up with SG still as head coach, then bring someone else in as Director of Football
