Ronio
After today's cracking 4-2 away win that ensures we are mathematically safe, I reckon Gray will go with a more attacking 442 system for this home tie. Starting 11: Kirkland Palmer Onyewu Llera Helan Maguire Lee Coke Antonio Nuhiu Best Subs: Martinez, McKenzie, Mattock, Corry, Stobbs, Afobe, Lavery Available for selection: Davies, Floro, Taylor, JJ, Betra, Dieseruvwe Suspensions: Hutchinson (1 game) Injured: Gardner, Zayatte, Reda, Semedo, Maghoma, Loovens, Buxton Out on loan: Mayor, Madine, Prutton, McCabe I think Buxton will be a doubt for monday after picking up a knee injury. Helan in at leftback for extra pace. Now that we are safe, maybe this game could be a chance to bring in some of the younger uns into the team and get some experience at a higher level. Who do you think might be involved? Betra, McKenzie, Stobbs? I'm going for a 4-1 win, Nuhiu to score a brace, Antonio and Best the other scorers. Owls_fan_since_1983
Wednesday won 4-2 against Bournemouth today away. So we got Charlton and Bolton at home at MASSIVE Hillsborough stadium. We own Charlton one for beating us in the cup. With the way we have been scoring goals, conceding goals we could be in a high scoring game, but I cannot see it happening in this game. last few matches we lost 4-1 against Watford, lost 2-1 against Leicester, drew Forest and Blackburn 3-3 and won today 4-2 (so 12 goals scored and 14 conceded) Whilst looking at our goal differences of +2 for us and - 24 for Charlton We drew 1-1 away against Charlton. As I cannot see there will be plenty of goals this time round. I will go for a prediction of a 1-0 victory for the MASSIVE Wednesday, probably an own goal. POWP
Kirkland/Martinez Buxton/Palmer McKenzie Onyewu Mattock Maguire Lee Palmer/McCabe Antonio/Stobbs Lavery Nuhiu So, if we're to keep Martinez next season and if kirkland is unlikely to sign he could be worth a shout. I'd ideally go buxton at the back to some support next to McKenzie who I'd start in place of Llera just to get some first team experience ready for next year. If buxton is out, Palmer moves to right back with McCabe potentially coming back from loan with a bit of form... if not it'd have to be coke with hutch being out. Antonio may need a rest to avoid injuries, so I'd probably bring young stobbs in for a substitue appearance at some point in the match if we're comfortable. Lavery up top with Nuhiu to try and get a partnership going between them. It'd be good to finish the last few matches with all our own players in the squad 2-1 win: Onyewu and Lee for us Edited April 18, 2014 by POWP
Southie_Owl
Agree that Lavery should start with Nuhiu. I'd rather Gray uses the last 3 games to plan for next season rather than play Afobe, Martinez etc. Not that anyone has suggested playing these two! Seeing Burnley tonight I think we could be that good if we do things right
trask43
Kirkland palmer loovens onyewu helan Maguire lee coke Antonio nuhiu best I think that's the best team from the players we have available though im sure mattock will start at lb. I don't really understand why everyone wants to play the youngsters Id rather see us win the match than get turned over again by Charlton because we want to give some players who aren't ready yet/ aren't good enough a chance. If we have any desire to aim for the playoffs next season players like corry and McCabe are nowhere near good enough for top end championship football both should be loaned out until January next season in the hope than at least one comes good. Maybe the last home game of the season we can give the best prospect from the academy 20 mins if we are winning.

Southie_Owl
At the start of next season will we be saying, I'm glad we played our best team and finished 14th, or I'm glad we gave the young players (that have a future) some game time so they went into pre-season knowing what it's like. Not saying we should throw any games away but if we don't get a takeover and Milan doesn't actually buy many players we may be relying on what we have now. Taximark
I hope we're like 5 up at half time against these mugs, screwed up against them in the cup and we all knew what happened after, but personally I think it will be tricky, they'll try to be tight at the back and will probably play it wide, they'll settle for a point imo because they are the most negative team in this division imo but obviously will try and counter, they can't seem to score though and Rhys Wiggings a key player is now out for them. I'd love to batter them but I actually think it will be a tight game, hopefully we'll get some revenge for the cup game. 2-0 Wednesday, Best, Nuhiu.
