glynnb
The Scottish player looks like Jim Mc Calliog but I think it is the late John White
Guest Johnbloodaxe
Swan was just so statuesque a real athlete... and Springett what a goalie. I must admit I thought it was McCalliog too.
Wolfmanjack
Looks nowt like McCalliog to me, but anyway, I'm pretty sure that Springett had played his last for England, before McCalliog ever played for Scotland. I'm actually amazed that the op, didn't actually know that there were two Wednesday players in the photo.

Hampden is about the only big UK ground I've never been to. It's definately the late John White for Scotland. Spurs double winner in 60-61. He was sheltering under a tree on a golf course during thunder, and a lightening bolt took him away. Shame. McCalliog would have been about 15 in 1962. I think he came to us in about 1965 as a 17 or 18 year old.
roaminowl
He's already got a name. Why is Owlstalk running this competition to give him another one?

No- it's Bobby Charlton when he had hair. 100% certain. The scot is definately John White. This was my era.... I used to be able to reel off all the players from all the Div one clubs in the early 60's/

VictoryBell
OK - I'll name him HMS Superthigh. Is that a game at Hillsborough from the European Nation's Cup in the early sixties?
Jackie Sewell
I would say the England player behind Charlton is Bobby Smith.
