viva hate
Would we say the home support is one of the worst there is?

rob_owl_92
It doesn't help when some of our games with the highest potential for big attendances are put on sky. Huddersfield and Leeds for example
bradowl
most home support is gash...cant think of any home support in our league that is rousing...and watchin sky theres only palace and stoke in the prem who seem to create a good loud atmos at home That's true, some people have been going on about Liverpool's support last Sunday saying its like that every home game. They were quite as mice first half against Sunderland other week.

Guest AbbeyOwl
Anfield is shocking they sing one song, then grumble their way through a game, to be honest our home support is better than most
southportdc
We'd probably be distracted with how half-arsed the West Stand looks at the moment
Paddyowl
Having 15k-20k of empty seats dos'nt help. A new 30k stadium would help
Groundhopping Owl
The problem with noise is, hillsborough is so large and open nooise escapes too easily. In more enclosed grounds (I know we all slag off "soulless bowls"), the sound bounces around and rings out more, making pretty small singing "sections" sound pretty large. I've been to quite a few bowls where singing has rang out e.g. Pride Park, the KC where a really small section could be heard throughout, or even Roots Hall which is actually so compact it ends up quite enclosed, where a tiny section made ok noise. Ditto the New York Stadium. Hillsborough's open nature makes a bad situation worse.

What happens if we get to prem and need 35k each week Well it would be a sell out for the big games then over 30k for the likes of stoke etc

Guest ben29
Thought forest home support was decent. Not sure if that's relevant but there you go

Exactly - on a numbers game they should be pretty damn inpressed how we manage to pack in 20K+ for most home games despite 14 years outside the top division. Flat Owl
Hillsborough is loud and full enough when we have a reason or want to make some noise... The ground needs the corners filled in but not sure what effect this would have on growing the turf. If was an away fan, I would want to go home and sing what a sh1thole the away end is. DessieBoy
We're only ever a dodgy decision from a ref, a late challenge from an ex-grunter or a crunching tackle from Semedo away from a cauldron of noise. It's those things that tend to get us going as a crowd rather than free flowing football which tends to draw an appreciative round of applause

Blue n White Rampage
we'd more likely be talking about how many we brought and how we could fill the stadium if only they'd raise our ticket allocation

Bit weighted tho 'a'nt it...Lets be honest ..how long would a couple of hundred Owls fans last on Penistone if they were waving flags and throwing flares about..be moved in 5 minutes...you need a f.ookin' fire certificate for a flag at Hillsborough....Chelsea Liverpool Arsenal...can wave banners , all sorts of crap....Wednesday fans get pulled if the try and take a bloody photo.... Albeit you can still cart a fooki'n Tuba up the Eastbank....go figure...
