Guest Sheff Owl
I really do like this guy, I'm still sure we are yet to see the best of him midfield, he's proved that's he is a cracking RB so no issues there. The problem i have is i wish Palmer would be a bit more tougher in the challenge, there was times today the ball was there to be won and he seemed to he hesitant, i couple of good tough tackles will probably give him some confidence to do it more. He has the pace, he can pass the ball, he can get about the field but just needs to get his foot in a little more and not leave so much space between him and the ball. Very good player just needs more bite in his game IMO
FlyingOwl
That's what preseason is for. I think we've got a cracking player on our hands with a bit of work.
Lee A
I wish he would shoot more often to be honest, sometimes sits far too deep when we're attacking which is disappointing. Still undecided on him as a midfielder, he looks better at RB but not quite shown enough in midfield for me, yet
BRADDAZ
Disappointed in midfield overall so far. But he's clearly got a lot of ability with the ball and it took him quite a while to get used to the RB position at this level. So i'm willing to give him some time in this position too. Good right back at this level though.
Guest Sheff Owl
He certainly lacks confidence in shooting but i guess that's not what he's about, i don't think he scored a goal for Tranmere on loan in 46 games playing in CM but was a battling midfield player and i got his foot stuck in and he just needs to add more of that to his game. The shooting part isn't a major issue for me, it's just the tackling and the bite in midfield.
malek
True. Bit puzzling as I remember watching him score from 35 yards out playing for our academy, and hitting a bar from even further out. Really thought that shooting is hid forte back then.
mosleyowl
Played better today, but I think that was because with 3 CMs he had less to do going back. He has a cracking shot on him as someone said earlier, could potentially be great in the 10 position in a 4-2-3-

Better at RB imo at the mo but Can't knock him the lad never hides.
shandypants
I think he can become an accomplished midfielder. It's his first full season in the championship and he is still finding his feet.
BRUCE LEE
Good right back but playing in an attacking supporting role, no, just no. Doesn't work.
Jowl
Thought he played well today and made good forward runs. I think him and Lee in the midfield with a full pre-season would be okay. Palmer needs to be encouraged to have a go and shoot more if he's going to get in those positions

Cant remember him making a decent tackle. He closers players down and then backs off. Its so frustrating to watch. Its slightly worrying, because aggression isnt an attribute that can be taught. trask43
Him and lee look poor in the final third they never have the confidence to shoot or attack the last man. Has a lot of qualities but im still not sure where his position is he really doesn't like to do the dirty stuff in the middle. I think he will go on to be a top player for us but for now it would be him or lee for me I don't think playing both works

SWFC_Liam
I really like Liam, think he's a cracking footballer. I think he's more of a midfielder than a right back, and I agree he needs to get stuck in more and make his presence felt. Next season I reckon he'll have a few clubs chasing after him by January. Guest CageFightingOwl
Michael Brown, Joey Barton, Gary Madine. Micheal Brown and Joey Barton are cowards, they are dirty players not aggressive. Gary Madine isn't aggressive on the football pitch, he just gets excited when he's out in town. All the best players have aggression, thats what stands them apart.
