Chris Waddle as a coach

Recommended Posts

Might not be everybody's cup of tea commentary wise but I agree with a lot of his comments regarding players beating a man and not thinking for themselves.

There's a lot of very qualified coaches who are introducing a very robotic style of play and trying to take all the risk and fun out of the game. Stuart Pearce and Gareth Southgate are two that spring to mind.

On another note; I never realised that he did a bit of scouting for us occasionally until he mentioned it on the radio the other day.

What is it with obsession with getting popular ex-players back as coaches?

Ex footballers are often fast tracked by PFA for qualifications, and if they have/had ties with the club it tends to be the way to get their foot in the door. fans love the sentiment especially the ones stuck in the past

You obviously didn't see him against stockport, he didn't need to run. Could just deliver balls into the box for David Hirst to trip over it.

Like when Maradona did sport relief a few years ago?

Hobbling around at a pace the made Sedgwick look rapid, in fact I dont think he left the centre circle, but nobody was getting the ball off him.

Cunt

Still he's not as slow as the roller-coasters at lightwater valley.

Crossing the ball is fast becoming a dying skill in the modern game, along with heading, tackling and shooting from distance, dont you know that football is all about possession, it seem's, with some coaches, even at the expense of scoring a goal.

Very boring.

Only at Wednesday.
