Clinton Morrison - Brentford

Recommended Posts

Now I hope sincerely that it doesn't come to this, I still firmly believe that we can and will go up automatic, but IF Brentford sneak into the playoffs in 6th place and we finish 3rd, can Clinton play against us in the playoffs?

I bloody hope not!

i admit Brentford's up-turn in form coincided with Morrison's arrival, but i'd question how important he is to their team; maybe in the dressing room and on the training ground, perhaps, but has he created or scored any for them yet...?

Why would we worry about him ? ?

Danny Batth has had Ched and Jordan Rhodes in his back pocket in recent weeks/months, so an old, over paid ego would have no chance....

Because ex-players always score.

Dont think so, but Rosler was in the press saying his signing was the turning point.

well he would do, wouldn't he... Rosler is not gonna come out and hail his signing a flop. Clinton is a great character to have around any squad, and brings vast experience; but he isn't having the same impact for them on the field that he had at Mk Dongs. Clayton Donaldson, on the other hand, is doing the business for them upfront right now...

They don't anymore, we are changing all those crap excuses for losing all the old myths are being dispelled one afte rthe other here's a list :

We don't win evening games

We don't win in bad weather

We don't win on TV \ Sky

We don't win after the manager wins manager of the month

and...

old players always score against us...

All rubbished..all dispelled..

Bring em on... however we won;t be playing em anyway as we are finishing at least 2nd..

Doesn't matter, we'll beat them if we play them in Play-Offs. I went to Brentford vs Bury today to secure my ticket for the Wednesday game (I live in London) and both sides were shocking. Essentially all they do is throw the ball up to Donaldson and Morrison and expect a goal, while both strikers looked lost as they had nowhere to go and no-one around them.

Ironically they created nothing from the hoof-up-and-hope approach, yet their first two goals came from playing the ball on the ground (a tackle leading to a free-kick and a decent little move). Did they continue to play it on the ground after scoring? No. They went back to hoofing up pitch and doing jack-all until they countered on the ground and again and scored! Bloody ridiculous.

The only saving grace for Brentford was little Sam Saunders who slammed in a decent free-kick before half-time and then a nifty little strike after the break. But if it wasn't for his two goals, I doubt they'd have scored. Also, Bury were really, really, really poor. For 80 minutes they played park-the-bus, except they didn't even know how to do that! One of the worst performances I've seen from any side over the last few years or so.
