EcclesallOwl Posted April 4, 2012 Share Posted April 4, 2012 (edited) Only joking http://www.swfc.co.u...2721975,00.html One young Owls supporter received a very special birthday treat when she was invited to meet her favourite Sheffield Wednesday star at Hillsborough.Grace Jasper recently sent a letter to the club explaining how much she enjoyed watching the Owls but was surprised when a few days later the postman delivered a reply from her favourite player Gary Madine. The Owls striker invited Grace, from Woodhouse Mill in Sheffield, to be a special guest at the Preston North End game - the day after her tenth birthday. The Jasper family - mum Joanne, dad Martin, Grace and little brother Elliott - came down to Hillsborough and were met by Madine who gave them all tickets to the game and presented the birthday girl with a card signed by the whole team. He took the family pitchside to see the tunnel and the dugout area and while chatting told Grace he would make sure the team got the three points for her birthday - a promise which he kept as he went on to score both goals in the 2 - 0 win. He said: "It is always really nice to meet the fans, especially the younger ones. Grace is a lovely girl who took the time to write to us so I'm pleased we could make her birthday a day to remember." Grace's mum Joanne said: "When Grace wrote to the club I told her not to get her hopes up for a reply, as the club are really busy, so when the letter from Gary Madine arrived I was as surprised as she was. "We all had a fantastic time and the fact that the team won made it even more special for Grace!"
