Shezza
Just finished reading the chapter on Chris Waddle in The Blue and White Wizards by Daniel Gordon (good book). Waddle was talking about how he would take the job at Wednesday had it been offered to him at the beginning of the 1995-96 season, and how ambitious he was about becoming a manager, but as we now know he ended up with just a short spell at Burnley - which was a disappointment too. But with his standing in the game, I'm sure he'd be given another job. Did quite well as a reserve team coach with Wednesday, and had a decent spell with Peter Shreeves as assistant. Why didn't he pursue a career as manager? Surely the spell at Burnley was a disappointment to him, but after we were relegated hi argued that Shreeves and himself should be given the reigns, but we went for Jewell instead. torryowl
great player but made a wee wee tail up of his 1 st managerial job at a decent club so would imagine if he wants another crack at management would have to start again lower down the scale to prove himself and he may not fancy doing that. Shezza
Maybe so. Never read him say anything about why never went on with it. I think his last job in football was assistant with us.

Shezza
Seems like he didn't enjoy the experience too much. http://www.burnleyexpress.net/sport/football/burnley-fc/exclusive_chris_waddle_on_life_at_and_leaving_turf_moor_1_1686919

Geedee
Coach yes , manager no. Management is now about a lot more than just the team. As Brian Kidd showed some people are just not suited to the hot seat. Give Chris a tracksuit and some kids to train and I think he would be excellent at it.
