Guest mattwilleyuk
Seriously you have to read this from some joker in response to Phil McNulty's BBC Blog: Read comment 66 from some bloke called Mark: Ramblings of a madman He seriously has the front to label David Hirst a failure and in the same mould as FJ9 Walcott to me seems to be one of the most over-rated players I have ever watched. His pointless running into dead ends, his inability to DO anything with the ball and his terrible first touch make me wonder why so many England managers give him the nod. Remember when he signed for Arsenal he was supposed to be the next Ian Wright/Theirry Henry but he hasn't developed enough to play up front and I wonder if he ever will. For me he is a David Hirst/Francis Jeffers type who promises much but delivers little. If Walcott played for Sunderland or Fulham would he be in the squad even? This is exactly why I despair of some football fans.... Edited May 25, 2010 by mattwilleyuk

Guest Walkley_Owl
David Hirst, 3 caps 1 goal. Cast aside when so many others failed due to his injuries. Bobby Robson got him spot on though

Guest Walkley_Owl
Bobby Robson was quoted as saying something like "it's not who's gonna partner Alan Shearer but who is gonna partner David Hirst" about Linekers retirement (i think)
Guest aphextwins
I think thats unfair about Theo. He isn't the finished article yet but his pace shits defenders right up, which makes them make mistakes, which also leads to us creating chances. How is that a bad thing? Guest WaddleIsALegend
If Theo goes to the W.C this year he will still be the youngest player in the squad.

Bobby Robson ‘92. Or words to that effect. I hope someone has responded to the thick tw@t who made the original comment? How dare he!!
