Ticket sales for BL Lower going well

Ahead of Saturday's first home fixture of 2017, the club can confirm that over 600 Blades fans have already taken up the option to be situated in the Redbrik-sponsored Bramall Lane Lower for the clash against Gillingham.

Following discussions with Sheffield Council's Safety Advisory Group and South Yorkshire Police, United have been granted permission to trial an initiative that sees home supporters housed in the bottom tier of the end traditionally reserved for away fans.

The lower tier of the Bramall Lane end is open to home fans for the weekend encounter with Ady Pennock's side, Tuesday's re-arranged match against Fleetwood Town and the March encounter against AFC Wimbledon.

Supporters can still buy tickets for all three matches, priced £20 adults, £9 concessions and £6 juniors.

Blades Operations Director Dave McCarthy commented: "A large number of our supporters who wish to support the team from behind the goal have already purchased tickets for Saturday and hopefully more will do so before the weekend.

"This initiative will hopefully be well received by our fans and as we continue work closely with the council and police then hopefully it is something we can offer again later in the season."
